Activation may fail for a few different reasons. Please find the relevant error below from the error message shown when activation has failed.
Invalid License
Error Message: Invalid license. Please enter a valid license key.
This means the license key you have entered is not a valid license key. Please check if you have correctly copied the license key received in your email after purchase.
Too Many Devices
Error Message: Activation limit exceeded. Please deactivate from another device.
This means you have already activated with your license key on two devices. Please deactivate on one or more of your devices in order to activate on a new device.
No Internet Connection
Error Message: Connection failed. Please check your network settings.
You need to be connected to the internet in order to activate Supertone Clear. Please check your network settings, including any firewall software that may be preventing activation.
Here are some causes we have seen with failed activations:
- Router ad block settings
- DAW blocking network connection (e.g. Equalizer APO, Davinci Resolve). Try activating on a different DAW, or a free DAW (e.g. Audacity, Wavosaur)
- Running a network monitoring app (e.g. Little Snitch). Try temporarily disabling network monitoring in order to activate.
- "Limit IP address tracking" setting on macOS. Try going to System Settings > Network, go to the advanced settings of your network connection and turn off "Limit IP address tracking." For more help, please refer to the Turn off Private Relay for a specific network on your Mac section in this article.
Alternatively, you may activate my plug-in in the browser.
Could not create license file
Error Message: Could not create license file. Please check administration permissions.
Sometimes activation will fail if you do not have the proper administrative rights to create a license file.
Here are some solutions we've heard that worked for some users:
- In macOS, try going into Library/Application Support and adding Read & Write Permissions of the logged in Standard User profile to the folder named "Supertone", and then selected "apply changes to enclosed items”.
- Try logging in as an admin in order to ensure you have the correct administrative permissions.
Alternatively, you may activate my plug-in in the browser.
If you're still having issues after trying the solutions above, please submit an issue with us.
