If your plug-in returns to Trial Mode after it has been successfully activated, the activation file may not have been created correctly or may not be accessible from your current user account.
Please follow the steps below for your operating system and product.
Windows
This issue was addressed in Clear 1.1.0. If you are using an earlier version, install a supported Windows version of Clear, restart your DAW, and activate the plug-in again.
If the issue continues, try launching your DAW with administrator privileges and reactivate the plug-in.
macOS
1. Locate the activation folder
In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder or press Shift + Command + G.
Enter the appropriate path for your product and version:
-
Supertone Clear 1.1.2 and later:
~/Library/Supertone/Clear/ -
Supertone Clear 1.1.1 and earlier:
/Library/Application Support/Supertone/Clear/ -
Supertone Air:
~/Library/Application Support/Supertone/Air/
The ~ symbol refers to the home folder of the currently signed-in macOS user.
2. Check the activation file
After a successful activation, the folder should contain a file named userinfo.
If the file is missing, the plug-in may not have permission to create or save the activation information. Try activating again while signed in to the macOS account that will use the plug-in.
3. Check folder permissions
Right-click the Clear or Air folder and select Get Info.
Under Sharing & Permissions, make sure the current macOS user has Read & Write access.
If you change the permission, select Apply to enclosed items so that the permission is also applied to the files inside the folder.
4. Restart and reactivate
Close your DAW completely, reopen it, and activate the plug-in again.
If normal activation still does not persist, you can use the Activate in Browser option in the plug-in's Activation menu.
For detailed browser activation instructions, see How do I activate my plug-in?
Using Clear with multiple user accounts on the same device
You can use the same Clear license with multiple operating-system user accounts on the same Windows PC or Mac. Because activation is tied to the device, the user accounts on that device do not count as separate activated devices.
To activate Clear for another user account on the same device:
- Sign in to a user account on the device that has internet access.
- Open Clear and select Activate in Browser.
- Select Go to Activation Page, enter the Clear license key, and download the
.clearlicensefile. - Sign in to another user account on the same device.
- Open Clear and select Activate in Browser, followed by Continue.
- Select Load License File and open the downloaded
.clearlicensefile.
Repeat steps 4 through 6 for any additional user accounts on the same device.
The .clearlicense file is device-specific and cannot be used to activate Clear on a different computer.
